Garlic Cucumber

I’m glad my company insurance covers quite a bit cause with these team lunches at 成都 it’s only a matter of time that I’m going to need a heart procedure 🩻🫀💥 Oil, and tonnes of it! slathered over bits of cut cucumber 🥒 Paired with enough garlic to undo the entire season of halloween 🧛‍♀️ and just the right amount of #spicy, this is by far one of my favourite appetisers 🤤 If #sweetdreamsaremadeofgrease, this one’s surely a top contender 🤺

It seemed like almost every dish we ordered from this place was spiked with #szechuan peppers 😜 I ain’t complainin’… 😏🙌 While it’s just chilled (and I’m theorising blanched) cucumbers with a chilli garlic oil coating 😋 The fresh blandness of the watery #cucumber counteracting with the greasy umami was such an exciting bite 😝 I’d still say the #garlic and chilli were the heroes of this dining experience, HANDS DOWN 🤪 $8.80 ain’t bad for an appetiser that’s turgid with water to fill you up quite nicely!👌 It’s a refreshingly interesting dance for your palate 💃 I think it’s worth a go for the #spicyvegan 👏

This was a really nice contrast to all the saucy hot dishes we had. The cool crunch of the cucumber with a slight hint of garlic was really nice. Generous portion as well. #veganisnotscary

This cucumber dish came in a cute flower presentation. So cute. Cucumber coated with light chili oil, it's a refreshing contrast to the other flavourful dish. Definitely played a good supporting role. On it's own, I'd prefer more kick,wish there was more garlic, spice and some peanut sauce :P Overall good experience but as it was my first time at Chengdu, there were some hiccups and miscommunication in ordering the dishes, and quite a few dishes arrived that were not veganised, and we had to send it back. The waitresses are not too alert with vegan preferences Tip: Specify clearly you want the vegan version and double check when the food arrives. :) Otherwise, wonderful service and food.

The best refreshing dish. Crunchy and garlicky. Good to have as side dish when having more fatty dishes! #veganuary
