Elote Corn Chowder

When we initially ordered our brunch, I felt weird about getting chowder before noon even though it sounded tasty. I waited until towards the end of the drag show to go back and try it out. It wasn't as great as I was hoping. It just wasn't as flavorful and fresh tasting as I expect from elote. I was expecting some cotija on top, but maybe the creaminess of the chowder was in reference to that. I was also hoping for more tajin-like seasoning with lime acidity. And as much as I like cilantro, I'm sad to report this might actually be too much cilantro! They added potatoes to this chowder which made it a bit hardier than if it was just corn.
