This was a special at Kinin! A baked eggplant with a choice of either pork or smoked tofu in tamarind sauce, ginger, and Thai basil with crispy garlic and cilantro on top! Obviously went with the tofu on this one, and it was super delicious! The eggplant was very soft and charred, and the tofu on top gave such a good Smokey umami flavour, with the tamarind adding a bit of sweetness. So unique and so happy to try something new here! My only complaint would be for the eggplant to have been warmer, as it wasn’t very hot when served. This was 6 USD and quite a good portion!
