I thought I’d better drink this bottle of Colaneri Estate Winery Sangria Bianco before the cool autumn weather becomes too cool. A few months ago, I drove to the winery in Niagara on the Lake and picked up several bottles of wine, and four bottles of sangria (two bottles of white sangria and two bottles of red sangria).
I don’t order sangria often at a restaurant, but when I do, I’m very happy I did. And getting this bottle of Sangria Rosso is no exception. It’s very fizzy and refreshing. According to the winery’s website, they describe it as “The colour of a perfectly ripe cherry glistening in the summer sun and a stunning complement to any day. The Sangria Rosso is a beautiful fruit medley that entwines tradition with memories and creates an irresistible desire for more and more.”
The alcohol content is 7.0%.
Also according to the website, “Our Sangria Rosso is a spectacular addition to our family and many times just needs a glass. Add some of your favourite fruits, peaches, blueberries, anything to your glass or savour it on its own during the sunset of a summer night. Before your meal, during or after, it is extremely versatile and every sip will leave you wanting more!
A beautiful reminder of the fruit picked right from a tree, it is perfect when enjoyed chilled and with light antipasto or fruit platters. Or perhaps a beautiful summer night, around the campfire with a decadent slice of pizza and a chilled glass of our Sangria Rosso to treat your palate. It doesn’t get much better than that! Salute!”
I thoroughly enjoyed it on its own without adding any fruit.
The varietals in this sangria are Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon with Black Cherry, Blueberry, Elderberry, Cranberry and Pomegranate Juices.
The price was $19.95 (including tax), slightly more than the Sangria Bianco. I will definitely get this again next summer.
