I baked a Betty Crocker Carrot Cake recently (the Betty Crocker cake mix was reviewed a long time ago) and I decided to add / swirl some needless calories with some E.D. Smith Blueberry Pie Filling. I don’t think the combination of carrot and blueberry is common, but it worked (for me). The taste was phenomenal! The blueberry pie filling added to any dessert always elevates it to another level.
The filling was thick and the blueberries were plump. They’re also the first two ingredients (“Wild blueberries, Cultivated blueberries”). But this is sweet. Only 1/3 cup provides about 1/4 of your day’s required sugar. I wish there was a ‘reduced sugar’ version of this pie filling.
I bought this can of pie filling a while ago at No Frills. I don’t remember how much I paid, but it was probably between $4-$5.
