White Pizza with Hot Honey au Floralia — Avis de bandita (18 août 2024)

I’ve been hearing all the buzz lately about hot honey pizza (pun intended), so I treated a friend of mine who celebrates national food holidays to this in recognition of #nationalhoneybeeday🍯🍯🍯🐝🐝🐝. The honey is made with apples, but I’m not sure what kind of peppers.

We both agreed that the hot honey adds a unique flavor, but we wouldn’t get it again. The hot honey really does taste like honey, and the white pizza really does taste like all the cheeses it was made to replicate, so I don’t think that we were missing out on flavor just because it’s all plant based, but rather he and I just love pizza too much, so anything that’s going to change the flavor (from the savory cheesiness and spices to a sweet pizza) isn’t going to be enhancing.

We only drizzled a little bit on the pizza, so we had quite a bit left. We added some to our coconut water drink that we brought with us. That added a nice flavor, almost like tea. We also had this hot honey on one of our prior visits drizzled on one of their cheesecakes. That was really good. So yes, we love their white pizza and their hot honey, just not together.

We got there before they opened, so I was able to get a clear photo of their outdoor dining area. Don’t let the emptiness fool you. It’s a really popular place and often very full and busy. Ambiance is really nice, especially after sundown with all their cozy lighting and chill music. This particular evening, they were playing jazz. Their music is never so loud that you have to raise your voice to socialize. It’s just right.
