Mother was excited to take me to a place openly advertising #vegan options … but I was disappointed. Of the few options that could be veganised, it didn’t seem like there would much left in the dish. So we went to another place, an Israeli cafe, which was perfect! The options were clearly labelled and they were meals of their own - not alterations. I had trouble deciding what to have - but settled on the Falafel Plate.
Everything was delicious. The #falafel balls were had a crispy outer layer, the hummus was smoother than anything you would buy in the store, the rice was fragrant and I could pour what tasted like #tahini sauce over everything. The only thing that was a bit much for me was the amount of pickled vegetables - it got a bit much for me. Great to know I can come back here in an otherwise less vegan-friendly region of the country. #veganisnotscary
