I purchased this ham roast on clearance last year after the holiday season and finally prepared it recently. It is quite nice and tastes pretty much the same as what I remember their ham slices tasting like (minus the glaze). It is very savory and salty. It is a bit smokey but not overly so. The glaze is sweet and syrupy and very good.
It was incredibly difficult for me to get the plastic seal off of the roast. In one way I suppose that is good - as it was sealed well - but it was a struggle to get going, which can throw a wrench in a timed-out meal for a gathering. It was easy to prepare besides the wrapping issue.
If you enjoy seitan and their deli slices, I’d say this could be a good option for a small gathering, as there are five servings per roast.
Leftovers are good for sammies, but I prefer the thin slices of their deli meat, so if I had a hankering for this flavor, I’d just go with the deli meat, provided I could find it. (It seems like the ham flavor is hard to find.)
