This was excellent 👌 Worth every bit of the RM8 I had to shell out for it 🐚 I’m so notorious for my dislike of “Chinese vegetarian” #nasilemak (and #rendang for that matter) that @stevenneoh actually had to pull me aside and set my expectations up correctly. Perhaps seeing a hijabi behind the stall warmed me up to it more 🧕 — but I think it stood perfectly well on its own right. I’m basing this off @stevenneoh’s review but I had no idea at the time the red #tofu like thing was supposed to stand in for #sotong 🩑 It rubbed off as a weird #masakmerah to me, but that makes a lot more sense. Next to it, a #curry featuring some #fakemeat of sort but wholly delectable 🐣 Of course they got all the usuals right! Fragrant #coconutrice, hardly a given in Singapore where even omnis would tell you that they use plain basmati for nasi lemak đŸ€ź, on top of a decent #sambal đŸŒ¶ïž, ground nuts / #kacanggoreng, plus an #ikanbilis / #vegananchovy stand-in ✌ If this was bungkus’d in newspaper, I’d be equally happy. Especially since you’d have to pay more for the inclusion of egg đŸ«ą The world needs an omni tax!
