Lemon Cake au Djanogly Cafè — Avis de sianski (9 sept. 2023)

For me, it’s always a treat to visit one of the London galleries, then go to the cafe for a nice drink and maybe something to eat while you mull over the art works you’ve just seen.

At Tate Britain the spacious cafe opens on to the gardens and in the warm weather we’re having it was lovely to sit outside under the shady plane trees.

I had a cup of breakfast tea with this very pleasant lemon sponge cake. It was light in texture with a filling of lemon butter cream and the same frosting on top.
What look like poppyseeds were mixed through the butter cream which stop it being sickly.
We shared the generous wedge of cake which is around £4.
