Beyond Veggie Burger -Veganized- au Restaurant Wasserschloss Wittringen — Avis de Claudia (1 nov. 2022)

This #burger 🍔 is originally just vegetarian as it comes with non-vegan mayo but the staff confirmed that if you leave it out, everything else about the burger (patty, bun etc.) is vegan. Not sure if the patty is really the Beyond Burger as it says on the menu that the patty is soy-based, and Beyond is made from pea protein and is soy-free. The burger also came with a wheat bun, lettuce 🥬, red cabbage, tomato 🍅, gherkins 🥒, ketchup, red onion and avocado 🥑 as well as french fries 🍟 and ketchup on the side. The patty has a great authentic texture and smokey hearty taste, also the french fries, which were coated in a few herbs, tasted very aromatic and crispy and the homemade ketchup was also very good. What I did not enjoy about the burger was that the red cabbage was pretty cold and therefore made the originally warm patty cool off too quickly. The price was 16,90 €.

There are no vegan-by-default options on the restaurant's menu, maybe other dishes can be veganized too but I have not tried that yet. It still think they should #tryharder and offer vegan-by-default options on their menu.

The restaurant is located in a moated castle in a nice park, its atmosphere (see 2nd - 4th pic, the faces of the restaurant guests are blackened for privacy reasons) is a mix of modern and medieval elements (like knight's armours).
