These really interested me. They seemed like such an interesting fusion. Tom yum, cilantro, and chimichurri are what is listed on the menu. I love chimichurri and Tom yum has such a wonderful and creamy flavor. These dumplings were a really fun experimental appetizer. These little pockets are filled with flavor. This is a great option for an entree and sharing! Unfortunately, it doesn't automatically come with rice, which is wild to me! I got a side of rice and really enjoyed it though. It comes with classic tofu and yuba. It also has bok choy, broccoli, and shiitake mushrooms. The sauce was really yummy. Although it looks intimidating with the chili bits and bright red color, it wasn't terribly spicy. This roll is made with tempura broccoli, spinach, avocado, and a spicy unagi sauce. It packs a lot of green veggies! This does come across more vegetal and herbaceous than other rolls because of this. It's just a bit bitter, but bitterness is a flavor we just generally don't have enough here in the US. This is a nice fresh option before a concert. This summer roll is huge! It actually makes it a bit hard to eat. However, the tofu, fresh veggies, and peanut sauce are delicious. Well what a lucky night! I don't know how we ended up eating all this food. This brownie was a mistake from the kitchen. A server set it in front of us and said we could have it. I was so full, but how can you say no to a free dessert!? I had to have a couple bites at least #forthereview. This was very different from the banana pudding. This was super chocolate-y. It is topped with vanilla ice cream and a maraschino cherry. It also came with a little pot of hot fudge to drizzle over it. I was stuffed, but @jonok saw this on the menu and insisted we get it. I went through a banana pudding phase a couple summers ago but Jono didn't have any with me at that time! This banana pudding is made up of bananas and pudding with whipped cream and caramel over a vanilla cake. The cake was a nice base that wasn't too sweet. It let the whipped cream, banana, and caramel shine through without being overly sweet. This is another spirit forward cocktail that @jonok ordered at PLANTA Queen. It's a seasonal margarita made with mezcal, cranberry, ginger, lime, and rosemary. The mezcal is the strongest flavor but the ginger and lime compliment it. For my second drink of the night I went for this fruity creation with a cute name. It's made with prairie organic gin, hibiscus, lychee, lemon, pineapple. It has a yummy rim made with what I think is freeze-dried strawberries or another red fruit. This was a fun sweet drink. Old fashioneds aren't really my jam. The bartender was talking about how this recipe made her start liking old fashioneds and it convinced @jonok to try! I took a little sip, and although it didn't make me a convert I have to admit it was a nice smooth drink! Much to whiskey forward for me, but not as bad as others I've had. This roll is the November special. It's a very unique roll! It's made with torched eggplant, crispy mushrooms, avocado, and spinach. It's topped with sweet mustard, jalapeño, and caviar. Mustard on a roll is a brave idea! It was a nice, unique flavor, but a bit too odd for me to order this again. I also found that the spinach provided a somewhat fishy flavor that I wasn't the biggest fan of. This sweet potato-forward roll was a great choice. It's made of japanese sweet potato, avocado, unagi, potato straws, gochujang mayo, and chili salt. The sweet potato and avocado were nice and creamy. It paired well with the potato straw crispy bits on top. The sauce was really delicious.
