This is one of my favorite vegan meals in Malaysia. In my opinion, this is a must try vegan dish in Penang. I was never a big fan of Japanese style curry rice until I had this and it has become my favorite curry rice to order. 😍😍

I have never liked thick noodle before until I come to this place. The sushi was amazing too. Small restaurant with one of the best vegan food I ever had. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Ooh look, people have come here and split this one menu item into its advertised #spicy and umami variations already 😏 So #abillionhacks I can come back and get the other one too 😛 This is spicy on account of all the red stuff which you see on top of the #katsu. Which was deliciously crispy, both the #tofu and the #mushroom 😋 And yet the best part was the gloriously creamy and sweet #pumpkin #curry 😋😋😋 Make the #rice bit more compelling and this becomes a five-star proposition!

Seems like everyone is offering #nutmeg #juice in Penang these days 😅 This one came with a solid version of the fruit on top, which will indulge at least 4 of your 5 senses 🙂 Pretty flavourful and a generous serving size, much needed in the afternoon heat!

Absolutely original 👏 I’ve never had a #nutmeg drink include the fruit itself! Shame though because it’s delicious 😋 The sweetened snack version called “manisan” is absolutely a treat you should seek out while in Penang 🏝️ It usually comes shredded! 🎸 The nutmeg used here comes all #locallysourced from Balik Pulao and is cooked in rock sugar for a full 8 hours 🕗 If you’ve never made it before, it goes several hours worth of slow cooking the halved fruit, pericarp and all, before peeling it and repeating the process all over again without the skin 🐌 Well worth it, it’s delicious 😋 #penangvegan #veganisnotscary

This place is smack in the middle of nowhere 😵 though it definitely deserves a place on the map! 📍 They have several #sushi platter sizes and given the weight @m1tch9i had already gained a week in #Penang, we opted to split this single portion 🍱 It’s pretty standard as far as #vegansushi goes with the vegan originals like #inari and #chukawakame present, but two were at least fairly original — Don’t ask me for the specifics though 😉 You also get #seaweedchips and two #skewer with #vegansausage on the side too 🍢 After visiting more up-market places, it’s amazing what RM17 gets you here. Penang is truly something else ❤️ You’ll come across a #plantbased spot at just about every other turn & true to its artistic #cafe culture each of these restaurants have such a unique feel 🪭 The is again #japanese themed like many #allveganrestaurant in #Penang are — but they have such a unique feel to their offerings. I don’t think I’ve had a #kabocha #japanesecurry before 🍛 I suppose in hindsight the bits I thought were carrot were probably #squash 🎃 In spite of requesting that the #curry be #spicy, I tasted not a pinch of heat 🤏 It was delicious nonetheless though, with half the #katsu a very creatively battered #tofu and the other half what I believe to be oyster #mushroom 🍄 They so seamlessly transition between the two, had I not pried I might not have even noticed! At RM16.80 for a portion well fit for 2, quaint atmosphere, & excellent service, Neko Vegan House is an absolute must-visit 🙌 #penangvegan #bestpicks #veganisnotscary

Delicious and filling! The battered mushroom and tofu is really crispy and creative add-on of the seaweed sheet with it to give additional flavour. Will order this again!
