Spied this pressed cake of steamed cassava topped gula melaka-soaked grated coconut as I was leaving Malaysia Boleh - and literally circled back for a second round because I am an oportunistic nibbler like that 😉. This was nowhere as good as the handmade stuff from Heng Heng at Maxwell Food Centre, but good enough for a revisit of this way-underrated tapoica kueh.

Crunchy lotus root slices with less crunchy black fungus and pre-seasoned mock mutton. This fared better than the eggplant stirfry, though I would have preferred more of the lotus root slices.

Chanced upon a veg stall on level 3 of the sprawling Jurong Point and couldn't resist ordering a couple of pick-your-own dishes including this aubergine stirfry. 🍆 Sounds like an oxymoron, but this was saucy yet lacking flavour, accompanied by long beans that weren't cooked long (another irony!) enough.

Generous serving Very reasonable considering places like kopitiam and ntuc food fare already pricing their meals above $5 We need for reasonable priced food for people especially during this period Malaysia boleh!

I don’t like the texture & taste of mock Char Siew. It is meant to represent BBQ pork. It is dyed with artificial red colour which I don’t like & won’t order. Nevertheless, I am thankful for the kindness of the person who ordered & bought this dinner for me. #veganeasychallenge #veganisnotscary

Curry vegetables is always my favorite. The big white cabbage is soft and sweet. The crunchy long beans is a nice contrast to the soft white cabbage. The gravy is light and sweet. Best of all, it is made with coconut milk. Vegan! It is not spicy too! #veganisnotscary #veganeasychallenge

This crispy bits are called vegetarian mock goose. I don’t really like vegetarian food with name of animals that it meant to substitute. I always called these- “ the crispy bits.” They are mainly made up of soya bean skin and seasonings. These crunchy bits paired very well with softness of the mee fen. A great combination! #veganeasychallenge #veganisnotscary

This mee fen is those type that would hold its shape & not become soggy after cooking for too long. It is harder in texture but I preferred the softer type. I like the white one than the dark mee fen which the latter has dark soya sauce added to it. No sauce=No additives, No artificial colorings, No preservatives. A healthy choice for customers. I have added curry gravy to the mee fen. Curry and mee fen always taste so good ! I am always thankful when there is vegetarian food in a food court. That one stall is already a savior to hungry vegans! #veganeasychallenge #veganisnotscary
