Today the smoothies were vegan! This happens maybe 50% of the time at hamp. Excellent green smoothie, not too bitter but still a solid dose of greens. Going to the dining halls is an art of time selection: peak hours? Too crowded to get a seat. Off-peak hours? Less selection. I went around 2 today, picked my limitation. Did still manage to get a nice full dish of plant foods: pinto beans, mixed vegetables, kale salad, sweet potatoes. #umasspnut

Hamp is my favorite dining hall here at UMass! Loads of plant foods everyday, I can never get enough! The buffet style layout gives you a chance to sample lots and lots of foods: The vegetarian bar has started using vegan cheese, for example with this eggplant and tomato slice. I love that you can order sushi with brown rice. And loading up on kale is both healthy and delicious. I prefer the carrots from the grill station but they also have caramelized onions, peppers, squash. At all the stations the selection is constantly changing The plant based nutrition club that I’m a part of here at UMass is all about whole foods plant based foods, not just vegan #umasspnut
