Vegetarian Siew Mai

I sent a pic of these sieuw mai I found in the Asian store to my partner and he didn’t believe they were vegan! He was like are you sure?? 🤣 Had to show him the packet to prove it! They say vegetarian but there is a small vegan stamp there. I believe they are usually made out of pork and shrimp. These ones had a slight cooked dry Asian bean curd sheet taste as that is likely what they’re made out of, but the texture and flavour was a decent mimic. #greytonfarmanimalsanctuary #santuariolibresalfin

Yummm! It’s been so long since I had siew mai. It’s delicious, has decent amount of protein and quick to cook. I found this at Vincent’s marketplace in Fitzroy.

I haven’t had shumai in ages cos all the options available in my city contain eggs, until Teik Beng Vege! So good–steamed or air-fried, well seasoned and stuffed with a bunch of shumai classic veggies. #abillionlove Ps: idk if alternative meat is a suitable category for shumai but nothing in the snack list is a good fit either.
