For the normal price it’s not worth it. When they are on special for R45 then I buy lots as it’s divine to toss into so many dishes

These are SO good! Definitely offer a nice smoky, salty taste to any dish. We used them here in a vegan creamy mushroom pasta and they worked a charm. I did find that they tend to stick to the pan, but nothing a little extra oil couldn’t help.

If you miss the taste of bacon then this comes pretty close although I appreciate this might put people off. Very easy to prepare. Great to add to a carbonara pasta
