Raw Cakes Raspberry & Passion Fruit

BEST KIND OF NATS SO FAR Around November 2022 I reviewed the Chocolate and Hazelnut version of these raw cakes that are sold frozen. I moaned about their exaggerated sweet content. However, this fruity one is much, much better! Taste/bite: Fresh, sweet and slighltly acid flavour mixing red fruits (raspberry) and mango. Creamy thanks to the cashew nuts and coconut oil used for the cream texture. Not too heavy, even if I ate 2 of these cakes in one time. I liked it. Ingredients: Organic. The basic layer is a typical raw crust, made of grounded dates and nuts (cashew & almond). The cream layers are of different colour, one pink with raspberry and one yellowish with mango. The fat used is coconut oil. No added sugar except for agave syrup. A decent 7,8 g of protein per 100 g of product, but also 29 g of fats with 15 g of saturated. That’s a lot less fat than the chocolate hazelnut version. Which explains why it has such a lighter feel. Even if coconut oil is pretty much okay, we had better avoid too much saturated fats. So moderation please! Shape/Conditioning: Two square portions of 65 g make a two-pack of 130 g total. Negative point: A lot of packaging, of which the inner part is a very sturdy quality of plastic, far too high quality. The outer wrap/box is printed cardboard. Nice artwork, but as you can see in the pictures, the actual product looks a lot less glamourous than the photo’s on the outside! Marketed as Plant based – organic – vegan – no gluten – no lactose. Price: I paid 5,50 € (February 2023), for this two-pack with a total weight of 130 g. Yes, quite expensive, even if these are good quality ingredients. So again, moderation please, or make these items yourself at home for a lot less money. Die Packung enthält 2 kleine Kuchen und sie schmecken sehr fruchtig, aber man schmeckt vor allem die Himbeere raus. Von der Passionsfrucht merkt man nicht sehr viel. Sehr lecker und schön süß, aber recht teuer. Gefunden in der Schweiz bei Migros.

Got this at MIGROS ..not bad and I’m quite impressed and happy that my children will be able to just go to the supermarket and pick up raw vegan cakes! They enjoyed it but prefer mamas homemade cakes ☀️💛
