Plant Based Schnitzel

This plant based schnitzel is so tasty (and high in protein at around 20g per serving) and gets a lovely crispy outer layer when air fried according to package instructions. I had it with some homemade vegan carbonara style pasta (swipe to second photo) and the schnitzel complemented it so well! I like how thick these schnitzels are but expected them to be a bit more chewy/crunchy, still pretty good 😊💚

I don’t really eat frozen, ultra-processed fake meats or foods much nowadays but my parents got this randomly, threw it in the freezer, then threw away the original packaging when the freezer became too full in an effort to make more space, so I had to do a screen-grab for the first two pictures 😮‍💨 I came home late feeling tired and wanting some quick and easy protein, so I dug this up. It was indeed very simple and easy to cook in the air fryer and tasted good in that fake chicken way. The texture/grain of the “meat” is not fooling anyone but that’s ok. It went well cut into tenders wrapped up in some lettuce leaves and dip for some lazy, thrown-together dinner.

Soy-based plant schnitzel... A big flat crispy crumb coated source of protein. Hearty and a decent texture as far as soy-based meat products go! Flavourwise, pairs well with some more sauce or seasoning. #veganmeat
