Daring’s gluten free plant chicken pieces are so tasty and a fun alternative to cooking with tofu! I love that they are high in protein and delicious.

The taste is lacking it goes well with sauce as any food would. Don’t really recommend it unless you’re eating it with something

I’m visiting her again this Christmas and I had this Daring Original Plant Chicken Pieces from Fresh Direct as part of my dinner one night. I was so excited to try this. I’ve never seen it at home (Toronto, Canada) but wish it becomes available very soon. The pieces were small; I was expecting them to be larger with grill marks (just as displayed on the package), but they don’t look like that at all. Once cooked, they didn’t taste meaty, but like very crispy chicken skin. This is not a complaint, just unexpected. They were absolutely delicious. My niece tried some and liked it. One-third of the bag is one serving (which is a realistic sized portion) and each serving provides a lot of fibre, protein and iron, with a decent amount of calcium and potassium. There’s very little fat too. I don’t know the cost, but I assume it was pricey considering it’s from Fresh Direct. I’ll have to ask my sister to get this again for my next visit.

This chicken product is perfect for tacos, rice bowls, and pasta dishes. I used the daring chicken to make birria tacos and it has the perfect texture. I have noticed that the breadless daring chicken is best made by cooking on the stove with oil until crispy and then adding a sauce to help soften the texture. Most of Daring products if not all of them are gluten free. They are a bit expensive but they have lots of protein and each bag feeds 1-2 people.
