A friend invited me over and prepared a yummy dinner for us. I felt compelled to review this spaghetti noodles, knowing that I would unlikely ever purchase it because it’s about three times as expensive as the ones that I buy.. Taste and quality is good. Nothing that stands out as different, but just as a good spaghetti is, al dente when cooked right, and no off flavors that some new varieties of pasta has. What stands out with this product of Italy is that this is made with organic durum wheat semolina. The one that I often get, Barilla, just uses this one ingredient too, but no claim to being organic. Interestingly, though, the Nutritional Facts on Barilla shows about 5 times as much #iron and twice as much #fiber per serving, and each serving is an equal amount. From a safety standpoint, the higher price on this is probably worth it. We just don’t know how much pesticides we’re consuming with the non-organic ones, and can only hope that boiling and draining the noodles helps negate some of the negative effects. As an organic gardener myself, I know that it’s a lot of additional work, to not use pesticides, while still controlling pests, and controlling weeds by pulling/digging them out and covering with mulch. #organic #spaghetti #madeinitaly #semolina #pasta
