No dairy vodka sauce

I normally avoid this brand because they promote paleo and the consumption of dead animals. I was very happy to see the word #vegan right on the jar, because a lot of paleo products are too afraid to use the #vword. I was also interested in trying their version of a vegan vodka sauce. It was indeed a delicious sauce. It had a great texture and was a bit creamy from the seed butter. It tasted like a quality product and I would have it again. We saw this Primal Kitchen vegan vodka sauce at Costco and thought we’d give it a try. I used it on pasta last night and it was very good. It was thick and tomato-y with that creaminess you expect in vodka sauce, minus the cream. I stirred some sauce into my cooked pasta to absorb into the noodles a bit and then topped with more sauce when I plated. For me, it needed a little extra kick so I added some crushed red pepper. This was great!! I haven't had vodka sauce in so long, I used to love it. It was a nice way to jazz up the regular spaghetti night.

Solid vegan vodka sauce!! I usually make my vodka sauce “from scratch” (tomato paste + coconut milk/creme + vodka), and while I still prefer that over vodka sauce from the jar, this cashew butter vodka sauce was surprisingly really good!! I was shocked to see this at the local Star Market in Porter Square — really awesome they had this option, and it’s super easy to cook with.
