This is my go to vegan multivitamin for multiple reasons. 1) it is not a humongous pill like other multivitamins because it doesn't contain >100% of any component except B12 (we'll get to that) and 2) it is specifically formulated for vegans so contains vitamins that we don't generally get enough of in our diets such as iodine and vitamin K2, which are not contained in many usual multivitamin brands. Now despite this, I still supplement with additional vitamins on top of this based on my own unique needs: I take an additional vitamin D supplement because I live in cloudy Ohio, calcium and magnesium because I am at risk for osteopenia, algae oil (will review separately), and vitamin B12. Regarding B12, don't be alarmed by the 2,000% seen on the bottle here. This doesn't account for the very small percentage of oral vitamin B12 that is absorbed - you will not absorb the full 48 mcg from this vitamin. I have seen a variety of B12 recommendations, anywhere from 10 to 250 mcg per day, or 2000 mcg weekly. On top of this vitamin, I take 1000 mcg B12 twice weekly, and have obtained blood tests from my PCP to confirm sufficient intake.
