creamy mushroom pie

I’m not the biggest wholemeal fan but I am a mushroom lover so I decided to give this pie a go. This was actually so lovely. The taste was spot on. There weren’t really many whole mushrooms inside, it was quite liquid, but as I said, the taste was so good. Would definitely have this again. Plus I didn’t mind the wholemeal pie crust at all!

I enjoyed this #creamymushroom pie. It made a tasty supper accompanied by a baked potato and sautéed brussel sprouts. The pastry is made with #wholemeal flour and is light and comforting on a chilly night. The filling of #chestnutmushrooms in a herby tarragon gravy was pleasant although I could have taken a little more peppery seasoning and a stronger presence of herbs. But the ingredients that are used are certified organic and the family run UK business work with sustainable growers. Price £2.73 Heat it in the oven for 20 minutes at 180 degrees. I wasn’t a fan of the pie crust (it was also gluten free if I remember correctly). I found it too hard and grainy. I did like the filling though

The idea is really good but the tarragon is a bit strong.

Really yummy, great pastry and a good size pie, would get again
