Chocolate mint plant-based protein bar

This mint bar reminds me of the Girl Scouts Thin Mint cookies, but is thicker with more protein. It is deliciously healthy and thick enough to satiate my appetite midday. #chocolatemint

I try not to rely on any protein bars, they become a trigger for me and I will find myself snacking on them more than I should. Therefore I save them for #vegantravel #hiking and very occasionally I will pull one out when a day got away from me. Last night was a loooong night for my husband and I as our #type1diabetes daughter kept going low and we had to take turns feeding her, so our longest stint of sleep was maybe 2 hours straight. Cue to cranky adults getting the morning going and I was out of both the Chia seed pudding and Overnight oats I try to make and keep stocked in the fridge. So I grabbed a bar for each of us, kicked my husband out the door for work with some leftovers from the other night's dinner (#okra) and sat at my computer to start my job. These bars taste good, too good, but did fill that need I had to lift me back up and get me through the morning. They also are much cleaner ingredients than most. At first bite this reminded me of a peppermint patty. However, because it's a protein bar it's drier than a mint candy, so my brain was a little perplexed 🤔 It was very good for a protein bar though. Considering that I’ve never had a protein bar before that I actually liked, these aren’t bad. The last time a tried a protein bar, thinking that maybe taste has improved over the years, it was the same old thing. But a friend convinced me to give this a try, saying it’s really good and that she gets it all the time. Not a taste that I would crave, but I’d get this again if I ever feel the need for more protein, if I can find it. Despite the name “Aloha,” I’ve never noticed this brand here in Hawaii.
