Chocolate Cake

I used to love picking up these little cakes for a quick sweet treat. I haven't had one in a few years ago I was excited to get one again. The taste has changed and I didn't find this as chocolatey as I did in the past. Also, it looks like there's a decent amount of icing but I think it just got pulled down the side in the cutting process bc there was only a thin layer. These used to have the amount of icing this one looks to have, and it was the perfect amount. I might pick another one up down the road to see if things have improved, but overall I was disappointed with this.

We bought this to fool some omni chocolate loving friends who think vegan food is cardboard haha. Needless to say they loved it and wanted to know where to purchase! We’re changing the world one cocoa bean at a time 🌱😉

My partner found this #chocolate #cake at Thrifty’s and bought it intending to have it for #veganxmas but we were all too full! So instead, we brought it along to a friend’s place as a dessert to share. It was nice and #moist and not too #rich. I’d probably get it again.

🛒Sobeys $20 🍰I noticed people on here were storing this in the freezer and were confused as to where it goes. It goes in the refrigerator 🙂 🌕Taste: ★★★★★ Tastes really good. It’s nice and moist. U can tell it’s made with apple cider vinegar, but surprisingly that didn’t get to me. I couldn’t tell if it was the apple cider vinegar or the coffee that I was tasting. Either way, it still tastes really good. 🌖Presentation: ★★★★☆ It’s non-GMO. It’s also gluten-free, and it’s made in an egg, dairy, wheat, and gluten-free facility. The tray that the cake comes in is cardboard, along with being in a cardboard box. The tray is wrapped in plastic tho.. and it doesn’t say if the chocolate or soy is ethically sourced or not. 🌘Nutrition: ★★☆☆☆ It’s a cake lmao. It could be worse tho so I’ll give em that ig idk. 🌑Value: ★☆☆☆☆ So, when I got this, I had gotten the price mixed up and I thought it was $10. I almost died at the till when I saw it was $20🤠 it’s good, but it’s not worth that price. If I had the time I woulda said no way and just made a cake. A regular cake being priced over $20 is just disrespectful to ice cream cake. 🌖Originality: ★★★★☆ I haven’t seen any other vegan cakes so far, especially pre-pack ones.

Love this cake. So decadent. And gluten free which is awesome!
