I knew I had to check it out! Displayed on the table was an appetizing assortment of 6 giant stuffed cookies. I couldn’t resist and quickly said “Let’s make this easy, I’ll take one of each.” The cost was $36; certainly steep, but for something decadent and unique from a small vegan business, why not? According to Danielle (the owner, chief baker, fellow vegan and lady running the booth), most of her cookies freeze well, but I don’t believe in freezing cookies. So over the next little while, I’ll eat these 6 giant cookies. The fourth I’ve tried is Brookie. The Brookie cookie is brownie-stuffed chocolate chip cookie. What the heck?? It was incredible! The cookie was soft, fresh, chewy with a pool of brownie - including chocolate pieces - in the centre. The cookie was about 1.5 cm thick (this is an eyeball measurement). It’s not surprising that the nutritional values were less than stellar, but what can you do? It’s not like I’ll be eating these everyday…although I have been eating them often over the past week to avoid freezing them. The calorie count (673) is mind blowing, and it’s typical for these stuffed cookies. Thankfully I didn’t look at the Nutrition Facts table when I bought the cookies. Of the four cookies that I’ve had so far, I would rank this one either third or fourth. This is not the say that it’s bad, it’s just that I was so blown away by the Birthday Surprise! and Strawberry Crunch cookies (previously reviewed). I think it would be pretty hard to top these two. This (1-person?) company operates online from the Kincardine, Ontario area. About 45 different kinds of cookies are made, but I think Danielle rotates through the variety monthly. Without any doubt, I would order cookies from Tree-Eats. They’re truly unique.
