Absolute delish. The portion is big, the battered is very well done and it’s not dripping in oil. I also loved the banana blossom, the texture is fantastic and the flavor is not too fishy which I appreciate.
Delighted to find vegan 'fish' on the menu at this cosy little café ... friendly staff, delicious food... wine & ginger beer... smashing!
One of the first places in London to do a vegan version of fish and chips and one of the best.
Vegan fish and chips!! YE YE!! I’m not the biggest fan of banana blossom but when it’s deep fried and served with chips and curry sauce... Well who can say no to that! #veganisnotscary
The batter was real traditional chip shop batter which was great as it’s unusual to find something vegan which tastes similar to the batter usually used on fish. The banana blossom itself was okay - it has a flaky texture which is quite realistic but it didn’t have much flavour and was quite watery in the middle. It’s similar to artichoke. I thought it could have been improved by adding some nori sheets (like is often done with tofish). The chips were proper chip shop chips and they were perfect.
