Every once in a while, I remember the upsetting fact that the nearest In-N-Out Burger
is 1,005 miles away. Given the rate of their slow but steady eastward march, I don't foresee the opportunity to get a veggie burger (no spread) or an order of real In-N-Out fries here in the Midwest anytime soon.
That is what made these Twisted Plants un-animal fries so exciting to me. The chance to get a veganized taste of home. The vegan cheese was great, and the caramelized onions were on point. The purists among you may note the use of waffle-cut fries as opposed to the classic shoestrings used in the original recipe, but I deducted no stars for that. Great job as always, Twisted Plants! 🍟
