Basically Bún Riêu Chay! Tomato soup filled with whole grain vermicelli noodles, 'crabmeat' chunks made using beancurd and glass noodles, tofu 'egg', 'fishcake' tofu, and shimeji mushrooms. 🍜🦀🍳🍄 Nice balance of mildly spicy, sweet, and appetisingly tangy flavours with the inclusion of pineapple, lime, and aromatic herbs~ 🍍🌿 Of note, the housemade 'crab tofu' was innovative and tender in texture but tasted quite bland; perhaps a dash of seaweed in the 'crab tofu' would have enhanced the 'seafood' aroma? Was a lovely experience digging into this. The tangy tomato soup was the star here. Loaded with veggies. Cut chilli on the side for that fire in yr belly.

OOH. I'm a sucker for a bowl of savoury tomato noodle soup and this one more than hits the spot! I actually prefer it to the normal pho, which strikes me as a bit too sweet (when I had it, at least). This one is beautifully umami, brightened with a tangy punch of tomato on the tongue. Paired with qq tofu and what I think is supposed to be faux crabmeat paste, but none of it really tastes very seafoody. The tomato soup is the star here!
