This is a take on traditional affogato, except the matcha replaces the coffee. I selected the Haupia (coconut) flavor, double scoop, which is only about $1 more and very worth it. When I just got a single scoop, it was like a tease; while eating it on my way back to the car, I had finished it before I left the parking lot, lol. But with this double scoop, it lasted me for about half an hour into my drive home. I was particularly feeling stressed this day, overwhelmed with all the things I need to get done, but somehow this treat made me feel more relaxed. I don’t know if it was because of the healthy benefits of Matcha or if it was just mental because of this indulgence. 
The matcha “tea” itself was overpowering, but just like traditional espresso, it’s perfectly offset with the creamy gelato.
This place is mostly non-vegan, but at least they offer some vegan variety that are very tasty and comparable to the dairy-versions, not like some ice cream shops that might only offer a vegan sorbetto and nothing else. Nonetheless, I still feel a little left out at this place as a vegan. They send me periodic emails about new temporary exciting flavors and concoctions that they’re offering, yet they’re never vegan. At least they give me ideas though on perhaps making my own one day.
