These eggplants filled with vegetarian ssamjang sauce with chick bean, adzuki bean and Korean ssamjang made quite an unexpected yet super pleasant combination. đ°đ·đđ¶ The eggplant chunks are gently roasted, moist but not too soggy. The texture of the filling sauce is really enjoyable (quite thicks) and its taste reminds me a bit of miso paste. It is slightly spicy, but the real spicy kick comes from the 2 chili slices topping each of the eggplant piece. Also, these nice savoury treats are placed onto a balsamic glaze which brings a really pleasant sweet note to the dish. I would have done without the dried chives sprinkled on the glaze, or have them replaced by some fresh herbs instead. Apart from that Iâd say the ingredients combo was well thought of! Thatâs a great side, especially for sharing (otherwise it might be slightly too much for one pax if you are also having a main here). Costs $12++.
Think this is worth trying too bc itâs quite unique! Stuffed w adzuki beans and doenjang I think. Not oily at all and a v nice texture.
