Before becoming vegan, I’d been to Kürtősh countless times for their slab cakes and pastries.

But never had I tried their signature dessert, the eponymous kürtősh—a traditional Hungarian chimney cake well known for its caramelised crispy flaky outer with soft inner walls, baked to sweet golden perfection and rolled in a variety of chopped nuts, chocolate or spices for added texture and flavour.

The kürtősh are baked and rolled freshly to order so the wait was about 10 minutes. We ordered a cinnamon kürtősh and it had a perfectly crispy outer shell but, to my disappointment, it was missing the soft inner wall. This made the dessert rather dry and chewy.

So good and worth every penny. Pictures dont do justice.
