Dish itself's #claypot presentable with vibrant brocc and cubes of chinese chicken #sausages (lapcheong) coated in perfect blend of sweet & savoury sauce. Havin said that, entire setup's a tad dry (soupless) which resulted in an upsized order for dumpling soup (diluted much, far cry from pre-war days). Not to mention partner's nasi lemak reduced to a single slice of hard rock fish 😑 Ouch factor : $7.50 & more
A decent bowl of claypot rice. The “chicken” cubes are actually a variety of mushrooms that have been seasoned quite well and have nice chew. They are topped with thin ginger strips that give extra warmness. The dish comes with a generous portion of rice; but was a bit disappointed to not able to find crispy rice bits that usually found at the bottom of the claypot. And wished that it comes with more vegetables, those two florets of broccoli are quite lonely 😆
Huge portion—big bang for your buck! Also be prepared for the food coma.
Decided to try a new place the other day so settled for D'Life in Novena. To be honest, I was a little spoilt for choice but chose to settle for this as I see many posted reviews on this and the pictures looks good. Happy to say that I made the right choice! The rice seems to be cooked with some black sauce which was really good on its own. The chicken cube was actually made out of monekeyhead mushrooms, fried with some sauce and ginger and shiitake mushrooms. The portion size was good too for $7 bucks in the central area! My only gribe was that they could have provided more greens haha. Well, not really complaining as I got more value out of this with the amount of mushrooms :P Oh, and do request for their belachan chili to go along with it! #veganin2020
Nice dish! The rice looks like brown rice but the texture is not rough at all and it is adequately seasoned. Comes with mushroom, carrots, bell peppers and broccolis other than the mock chicken cubes 😍 a little pricey but the portion is worth it :)
