Chili Ban Mian / U-Mian 辣椒板麵 / 幼麵

This bowl of chewy flat noodles mixed with chilli and fried “anchovies” was comfort food for me. Came with a bowl of hot soup that had spinach, mushrooms, black fungus and tofu in it. Eggs in the soup can be excluded on request. #banmian #fettucine #vegannoodles

Easily customisable on the ordering app. I asked for no egg. Chilli is fragrant and no spicy at all. The accompanying soup has a good amount of veg, black fungus and tofu, nice clean taste. The queue builds up very quickly after 12pm. Do pop by earlier for lunch!

🍜 First impression... not the most nutritious dish. But I guess I knew when I ordered. Haha. Those who love Mee pok or such, might enjoy this dish. I'd recommend switching out the fried bits for something else since the chili oil has lots of oil already. Perhaps some beans or tofu? Luckily there was a bowl or soup with veg to provide more balance. Would be great to increase the veg proportions, and reduce the salt in the soup. 😬
