I'd give this full marks if not for the fact that it didn't fill me up properly. It was super healthy and comforting to eat but not a filling portion - I would've needed some carbs. Chickpea and sweet potato cake is a patty that was super delicious but I need more carbs than that. There were an array of greens - fresh salad veggies, delicious asparagus, avocado and roasted peppers. So yummy and healthy, I felt that it was cooked with love, but if only it had some carbs I had spent $16.50. I ate an English muffin after that and was full.
This looks like an unassuming bed of greens but this is actually a loaded salad! I really like it when salads combine cooked and raw food and they did a fantastic job with this. There’s a large chickpea-sweet-potato party loaded with vegan Mayo at the bottom, and a nice combination of grilled veggies, then topped with rocket and other fresh greens. Very filling and hearty meal! 😍
This vegan chickpea and sweet potato cake ($14.80) was a nice salad option for me since I'm a fan of falafels! The thick cake was made from mashed organic chickpeas, sweet potatoes, cumin seeds, fresh coriander, and curry powder. It was aromatic and nicely spiced despite not containing garlic or onion. The accompanying grilled asparagus, tricolour bell pepper, French beans, and roasted nuts and seeds were also flavourful. I wish the side salad could have been more substantial though, e.g. with some peas or beans or tofu.
Chose this dish for its chickpea protein content. The combination of chickpeas with sweet potato and spices turns this dish into a tasty patty, especially when topped with vegan mayo. Also like it that it comes with avocado, tomatoes, and capsicum for better nutrition!
yum yum yum! love the vegetables and combination with the chickpea and sweet potato cake. the salad sauce is zingy - really one of my favourite salads here. super filling too!
