Chendol

Considering how easily the dish can be #veganized, I’m surprised that this isn’t a more common option at #Penang vegan restaurants! Just drop the anyway disgusting and cruel condensed milk 🐄 You’ll have to ask as much at this restaurant, but at least it’s on the menu. It was nice, and the jaggery 🤤 Really #chendol is just sweet bean soup with jaggery don’t @ me 😒

I usually review dishes in the order in which they had come, but this #chendol was just so much better than everything else that night that I couldn't possibly allow it to be penalised by the arbitrariness of Abillion's scoring algorithm 😏 I paid RM12 for it and I was still extremely happy (for context, you might get six bowls for that amount of money elsewhere in Penang). Those huge servings of #redbean and everything really, plus the generous amount of #jaggery for my #sweettooth ☺️ Usually the last few bits of melt at the bottom get ignored, but here I rescued every last drop 😋 This #malaysianeats (frankly, #penang eats 😛) classic is probably #accidentallyvegan in most places, but the clear labelling on the menu was still much appreciated! 🙌 P.S. for once there was lots of #santan but I'm not calling this [#]ruinedbycoconut 😛
