Tasty fried beancurd skin (one of the few ones that really have flavour besides the crispy texture), springy mee pok that has the right thickness and lightly doused in vinegar. Please ask for small amount of chilli because it’s really spicy! Although the minced mushrooms look like unappetising tuna at first glance, they are actually really tasty😋 However, the uncle wasn’t very friendly and the konjac taste in the fishball was too strong and its texture too Q for my liking.
a dish that’s available at shi song everyday. it always comes with different additions depending on what ingredient they have that day and this time it came with cai ping. i love this dish with mee pok and they always give a large amount of bak chor.
The minced meat looks like cat food but boy does it do the job of Bak Chor! I'm not a fan of black chinese dried mushrooms and I'm usually horrified with generic mock meat... but this really brought out the authenticity of the dish- seasoning and texture wise.
Dad ordered this. Both the portion of noodles & the portion of ingredients were pretty substantial. Came with a savoury, oily base which might be sesame oil for that extra fragrance. Ingredients included crispy rectangles which added another textural dimension to the dish :)
