This delicious meal consisted of:

Kiribath – "milk rice", which is rice cooked in coconut milk to a creamy, thick consistency, then cooled and sliced into diamond-shaped pieces. Served with lunu miris, a fiery onion relish made from diced onions, red chilies, and lime juice.

Hath Maluwa – richly flavorful traditional Sinhalese curry featuring seven different vegetables, nuts, and legumes: cashews, green peas, Thai eggplant, long beans, carrots, potatoes, and chickpeas.

Broccoli Mallum – cooked with grated coconut, onions, garlic, ginger, curry leaves, and mustard seeds.

Dahl – lentils cooked with tempered onion and spices, then finished with coconut milk.

Traditional Sweets:

Walithalapa – a sticky "sweetmeat" made from grated coconut, rice, and kithul jaggery

Urunda – ball of jaggery-sweetened pittu (steamed coconut and rice) coated in a coconut batter and fried.
