I got this by accident because someone else opted out of their first meal for the flight ✈️
This is of course normal with code-sharing flights where in general airlines think, yeah screw vegans 🤷♀️ This is in spite of my meal preference having already been set for Singapore Airlines before I even booked this flight and me checking again with the check-in staff at Swiss Air 😕 The issue seems to have been because I was assigned no seat at check-in and only got assigned one when I boarded the plane. Thank you to whoever didn’t eat this!
The meal was prepared by Hilti[1] aka the oldest #vegetarian restaurant in the world! It’s about as good as reheated #pasta can be 🤷♀️ but still not the best I think Hiltl can do 🙈 I understand though that in-flight food ought to be as inoffensive as possible, hence.
Overall not too shabby though I do think the #cake they provided was far #toosweet 🤮 I could not go beyond a second bite!
Unfortunately the plane has no #ramen or anything either so frankly as usual remember to pack your own meals on long-haul flights 😴 Or avoid them altogether if you can 😬

How did that work then, they just asked ‘WHO IS VEGAN HERE?’ And you raised your hand?
I've had this happen before as well, and had to survive on bread rolls and my seat neighbours generously giving up their fruit pots for me! Can't understand why airlines don't stock spare vegan/allergy friendly meals - they're the only option EVERYONE can eat. 😤 At least you managed to get something!
