Review of Whole Grain Pita - Atoria's Family Bakery by kyu
Fantastic #pita pockets! When I saw “#wholegrains” on the packaging, I immediately envisioned dry and crumbly #flatbread. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that this wasn’t the case at all with Atoria’s. Considering their more fibrous composition, these pockets were very soft and pliable (sprinkle with water before microwaving for best results.) They were also quite strong! I was able to shove a lot of fillings inside before the thin #bread started to tear. The pocket is well-constructed, too; it’s deep and goes all the way to the edge.
This pita is delicious — while it is a good source of fiber and protein, it doesn’t have that “too healthy” taste. It’s enjoyable as a snack (pair with hummus!) or as the vehicle for a full meal. Overall, the texture and flavor are among the best of any pita I’ve tried! They cost a bit more than the Trader Joe’s whole wheat pita I used to buy, but in my opinion, it’s worth paying a bit extra for the more premium experience. It’s also cool to support a local company; apparently they’re based in Gilroy. Their facility is dairy-free (yay, #ditchdairy!,) and folks with allergies may be gratified to hear that it’s #soyfree, too. I’m incredibly pleased with this pita and definitely plan on repurchasing. #groceryoutletfinds #veganisnotscary
Also, I know this is silly, but I was shocked to see a cardboard bag clip! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten one before.
