Wow!! I loved 🤍this traditional Ethiopian bread called Injera! Soft, slightly sour and a tad spongy perfect for absorbing all the delicious flavorful sauces from each dish! Made of Teff flour, sour fermented and shaped pancake style. Here at Axum Restaurant the base of the Veggie Combo Platter is a large round Injera bread 🫓topped with all the amazing dishes to sample and enjoy! 2 injera smaller rounds are served with this platter so you start scooping up all the yumminess with those then break off from the one on the platter once you’ve finished with those and to enjoy all the sauce the bottom one has absorbed! I’ve definitely got to try making this bread myself! I love it!
If you are ever in the city of Chicago, definitely check this place out! You won’t be sorry. Comfy cozy outdoor seating outdoor and in with option to sit on traditional Ethiopian chairs 🪑 and eat on a traditional style table too!
