These little vegan layer cakes are so cute and a unique find for ALDI. They come in four flavors (w 2 of each): chocolate hazelnut, chocolate caramel, mango lime and raspberry passion fruit. They are all delicious but I especially loved the raspberry passion fruit ones. The texture of the cheesecake like filling is so satisfying and creamy. I am less of a fan of the date/nut crust; I usually enjoy this type of crust in a small dose (like these cakes) but it seems like perhaps the condensation at the bottom of the package added too much moisture and made the texture a bit odd.
I had read online that these are a store packed version of Nat’s Rawline. I remember having those products previously and assumed they were FEP approved. Unfortunately upon a double check I see they are not currently on the chocolate list. I’ve submitted them so I won’t add this product to a recommended list until I know the result. If the chocolate is ethically sourced I would recommend these. They are quite rich but the small size is a perfect portion. It’s so nice to see such fun and creative vegan treats!
