My first time seeing tigers nut milk or the Santal brand😃 Found this one at Pick n Pay for R29.95, which is about R10 less than most plant-based milk. So, of course, I had to try it 😉
The taste is similar to almond milk; nutty and slightly bitter. It's great in tea and for breakfast and smoothies, but a bit watery for coffee. The one thing I found, that often happens with nut milks, is that it separates if you drink slowly like I do. But all you need is another stir and then it's perfect again 😊
I'd like to try the soy milk next time.
The only complaint (?) I have, or rather something i found strange, was that there was no vegan labelling on the box. The 'UHT process' and 'lactose free' had me worried that it might be a blend of nut and cow milk but looking at the ingredients i couldn't find anything about cow's milk. Still, it would be nice to have clearer labelling.
