Braised Meat Rice en Green Bliss Habitat — Reseña de pomwei (12 ene 2022)

I marvel at how simple-looking, yet delicious a vegan dish can be! Although slightly pricey ($5.80), this dish tasted exceptional on so many levels. This rendition of ‘chicken’ rice was nicely cooked with a hint of lemongrass. This component alone is easily far more superior than a lot of good omni chicken rice!

Complemented with chilli (not in picture), albeit not chicken rice chilli, the rice could be eaten on its own w/o other ingredients! The chilli resembled those good wanton mee sambal chilli, though a tad spicy.

I was blown away by how accurate the fatty layer of the ‘braised meat’ was to the omni’s version. The gelatinous layer really screamed full marks for the texture, although the meaty layer fell short slightly but was compensated for its immensely strong flavours.

Some minor qualms: I wish the herbal soup was stronger in flavour as it was diluted, and the braised tofu served warm, although the flavour was not compromised!
