Tofu Paneer de Tabu — Reseña de Ecobunny (20 oct 2021)

Picked this up on my latest jaunt to Johannesburg, The Spice Journey, also located in the Carriera Centre (I mean, they really have the great trifecta of vegan/plant based food, don't they ?). I think R60 bucks is well normal for bought tofu, add to that that it's non-gmo and you can guarantee its quality and you are already starting out ahead of the game, so to speak. I have never tried vegan paneer before, so I am pleasantly surprised with this - you can tell it's tofu, but there's a delicate touch of cheeziness at the edges. Simple yet effective packaging, I had no idea how to store it (do you add water to it like normal tofu or what?), so I followed their instructions and have cooked all of it...I air fried mine in a mix of chickpea flour and cornflour for crispness and used O/O oil spray, which made it dryer than it could have been, but then I've been trying to cut back on fats where I can in actual cooking so I can have them in other food stuffs. I enjoyed it very much with a chili/ soy sauce (Woon Heng's recipe ) and steamed white rice. #veganisnotscary
