Nopalia

Great #snack made of nopales 💚 Nopalia is a #mexican company that uses #organic nopales to prepare its products.
This bag has “churritos” with habanero flavor 🥵

A quick #nerdyfact about habanero chili : The name “habanero” refers to the Havana in Cuba however there is no a clear relation 🙄 because they rarely use it.
There is no clear (genetic/scientific evidence) about its origin some researchers claim this chili has its origin in Brazil.
Today the biggest producer is Mexico especially the state of Yucatán! Where you can find it in its traditional food.
The colors of these chilies are beautiful from orange to red or even purple ones 💕 they are super hot 🥵 so take care if you see one of them 😉

anzengreen Me encanta siempre el #nerdfat @abi88 / Always love your nerdy facts... ❤️ A humble contribution related with the use of habanero: Cable component
In countries such as Japan, the Habanero chili powder is used in the plastic mixture that recovers fiber optic cables in order to prevent animals from biting them and interrupting the connections.

Paint component
On the other hand, the Habanero is used as a component in boat varnish, as it has anticorrosive properties and helps to keep algae off the boat’s hull.

abi88 Great addition !! Thanks for that 💕 did not know about the anticorrosive properties 😀 with respect of the anti-biting thing should be the “capsaicin” the pungent compound that defer animals — we as Mexican should start using it too— we have plenty of chilies around to make use of the chili ingredients 😉 naturally this compound (capsaicin) is a defense compound against many small herbivores and even microorganisms. Now I wonder about the anticorrosive properties maybe just maybe is the same compound the responsible of this effect 🧐 súper interesting #nerdyfact 😍 thanks again 😘1 likeReply
