TCF Kabuki Ramen

TCF Kabuki Ramen can be found at Japan Home at S$4.50 per pack (2 servings).

Many Japanese ramen noodle producers are starting to take notice of the vegan market potential, and have been creating vegan ramen to cater to this market.

Compared to Miyakoichi ramen we had reviewed previously, we felt this was much better in taste (the soup definitely tasted closer to the real Tonkotsu pork broth ramen). The soup didn't have the slight sour taste that Miyakoichi's ramen had.

The dried noodles are the thin, straight type, typical Hakata style noodles (from Fukuoka), but it was slightly thick. It's a matter of personal preference but we would very much prefer the needle thin Hakata noodles instead.

Nevertheless, in our opinion, given the good taste and fair quantity (2 servings), this product is reasonably priced and highly recommended!

Do note that the packaging only comes with dried noodles, soup and sesame oil, so you'd have to get creative and add in more vegetables to get that perfect bowl of ramen.

The soup also contains spring onions (which happens to be a plant 😁) so it wouldn't be suitable for those who do not take the five pungent alliums.
