Technically it’s from Pura Vita Pizzeria next door, but let’s not confuse things. This has their house made cashew ricotta, mozzarella, broccoli rabe, garlic, and chili flake. Shown with Italian sausage crumble, an extra $4.

A while ago we met @vikas at Pura Vita to discuss this here app, and we ordered a bunch of food. Unfortunately he had to leave for another meeting before the pizza arrived. It was one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve ever had and now they have a whole pizza menu!

I was a fan of this but for $24 I would have to struggle to get it again. The cheeses are good, great even. The veggies are cooked perfectly and feel virtuous. But the crumble is missing an edge. It’s not particularly crispy and it’s so tiny it’s like bread crumbs with a hint of meaty flavor. The crust is delicious but it’s super thin in the center - authentic but a little soggy and underbaked.

I would guess this is named after Chris DeRose, the founder of the animal rights nonprofit Last Chance for Animals, which has an office nearby. Chris is one of our movement’s founders and I’m proud to eat his pizza.
