My favorite thing @ Vinh Loi was the annual special in 2010 and luckily Kevin never forgets how to make it if I want it. It’s very similar to the TKO soup that is on the current menu.

This is me about to plow down on an entire table of vegan #thai from the best noodle shop in LA. Kevin, the owner makes his own tofu and mock meats and there’s not a single thing on the menu I wouldn’t recommend to a friend.

Meh, didn’t really taste like spam lol. Vietnamese vegan restaurants tend to take the same meat alternative they use and change it up a bit and give it a different name. Appreciate the effort though! Not as salty and didn’t have the same meaty flavor.

Definitely had a strong bbq taste, and the faux duck was quite good. I don’t think I could eat this as my own meal, and it’s better to share with people. Had broccoli and cabbage and mushrooms as well.

Not the ham spring rolls (those are in rice paper wrappers) but the sushi-style, just huge hunks of vegan ham, brown rice, nori. Served with a dipping sauce loaded with star anise flavor.

“Clear vegetable broth with mushrooms, sesame seeds, green onion and cilantro.” Okay but also nuts, noodles, vegan duck (or is it beef?), and many other good things. If you recall Soup 2010, which was the special all year in 2010, the Total Knock Out is similar. I tend to favor 2010 but this is great too.
